National Trust Riverlands Project
How do you connect with people to make a problem relevant and engaging? That was the question we answered with our NT Riverlands project. Raising awareness that we can affect the flooding problem in the River Conwy and the positive steps being taken saw us unearth an old Welsh myth of the Afanc; a terrible sea creature who makes the River Conwy flood when its angry.
How about we create opportunities for people to hear more about the Afanc through Community days where they can create a giant river monster, star in a rap video and talk to the National Trust about flooding and what measures are being taken. Team that with a bilingual school’s workshop and everyone starts to hear about the Afanc.
